Classification of optical sensors

There are different approaches to classifying the optical sensors. In many cases, the strategies of classification overlap, e.g. in interferometry, which on the one hand is based on (multiple) reflection and on the other hand depends on the evanescent field by influencing one of the arms of an integrated optical Mach-Zehnder component.
